A look into my sound experiences:
The 146 Point Flame
By Matt Thompson

Directed by: Allis Roddy
Costumes: Megan Breene
Lighting: Sophia Barnes
Sound: Elizabeth Pendergraft

For Bartlesville High Schools fall Blackbox production of "The 146 Point flame", the show is rooted in the silence and the terror of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in 1911. Starting with that information there are very few sounds actually within the show itself, and there were some artistic liberties taken. Emphasizing the importances when the characters waver in and out of reality with memories and the active fire.

As our 2025 fall mainstage we took this classic Shakespeare and put many twists on it. We took this romance tragedy forming it into a black and white 2 act comedy into tragedy. I was tasked with finding music to really shape this story to fit our new theme, from party jams in act 1 to funeral music.
In our act 1 (Shakespeare's act 1-2) we turned it into a comedy with music such as Gasolina by Daddy Yankee during our gang battles to Conga by Gloria Estefan in our hype party. The playlist for act 1 is made to let people have a good time and feel themselves. Although when act 2 hit and Tybalt slays Mercutio the music dims, the mood shifts and music such as As the World Caves In by Matt Maltese and A Soulmate Who Wasn't Meant to Be by Jess Benko played.
This show's music although it may be well known shows drastic change through the 2 acts helping the shift in mood be noticed easier by some.

Seen was BHS's Spring 2025 mainstage, it was made up of 9 scenes all written and directed by various students at BHS. This was a show that I let the student directors take more creative liberties in the sound they wanted for each respective scene. This was our first show we did without the help of our Mic packs and relied on only our choir mics and floor mics.

Lighting Design: Sloan Hewitt
Sound Designer: Elizabeth Pendergraft

HPCC was BHS's Fall 2024 play. This was the first show where I was our main sound person, and the show that made me realize I can do this as a profession in the future. In this show we rented the already existing required sounds, and I got to focus on using our soundboard. This was the show I learned about Equalizing on mics and the basics on how to do it.
Anatomy Of Gray

Assist. Director: Marisa Wells
Stage Manager: Grace Morrison
ASM: Reese ryal
Sound: Allis Roddy and Jacob Stapp
Sound Board op.: Elizabeth Pendergraft

Anatomy Of Gray was the 2024 spring mainstage, and the first show I ran mics and effects at the same time. Sound effects in the show were very minimal, and it was either instrumentals or nature noises. With this show being my first experience running both the board and the effects at the same time it will come into future experience needed and something I will do all the time.

Two Gents

Two Gents Was BHS's 2023 fall play. Here at BHS, we don't do just Shakespeare, there has to be a twist. Our twist for this show is that it was set to the vibes of the 80s and 90s (Lingo included), and we had songs like Betty DAVIS EYES TO You give love a bad name.

The 2022 BHS Fall mainstage play, and my first ever show at BHS. I had signed up to do crew and got placed as an A2. Little did I know that this experience would shape my passions and dreams for the next years.
